Advanced Post Graduate (PG) Diploma in Life Science Technologies

SRM-DBT Platform for Advanced Life Science Technologies is a National Core Facility with many sophisticated instruments under the project entitled, “SRM- DBT Partnership Platform for Contemporary Research Services and Skill Development in Advanced Life Sciences Technologies”. The purpose of the core facility is to facilitate intra, inter and co-disciplinary state of the art life science research and to promote skill development.

Advanced PG Diploma in Life Science Technologies is a one year course aimed to produce highly skilled professionals to handle advanced laboratory equipments such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Mass Spectrometer, Digital PCR, Micro-Array, Fluorescence Microscope etc.

The course is designed in consultation with peers from industry and academia to empower the students with techniques to be used in industries and advanced research laboratories. This course can help the students to secure employment in biotech industries and other advanced research facilities.

Students would be provided with a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000/- for the duration of the course. Candidates should send a detailed filled in application form before June 15, 2019. Shortlisted candidates have to attend a written and oral examination to be conducted on July 16, 2019. Candidates would be selected based on their performance in both oral and written examination. No TA/DA would be provided for attending the interview.

Department of Physics and Nanotechnology invites passionate candidates to apply for a Post Doctoral Fellowship position in Atmospheric Science Research Laboratory to work on the aerosol science. Applicants should hold a Ph.D in the field of atmospheric science / meteorology with good analytical and writing skills. The successful candidate is expected to work on the data sets obtained from the existing aerosol instruments at SRM IST (Aethalometer, Dust Samplers, Mini LIDAR etc.,) along with the supporting satellite data. The selected PDF should work in a collaborative lab environment to bring out the good quality publications by working with the Principal Investigator. The fellowship is initially for one year and can be extended one more year after assessing the performance of the candidate. The monthly fellowship is Rs.35,000/- (consolidated) per month. At the time of application, applicant’s age should be below 35 years.
